The following tasks were completed during the past week by CCCSI staff.

Meetings with Mayor Timothy Sharp of Lake City and Ms. Lynette Seeber, librarian of Briceville, to discuss Coal Creek Watershed Day 2000. Mayor Sharpe offered suggestions for Watershed Day including using the covered shed at the high school as a location where exhibits can be located. He also provided suggestions for other contacts. Ms. Seeber provided several books on the history of the Coal Creek watershed and she arranged with the principal of Briceville Elementary School, Mr. Braden, to allow us to use their facilities for Watershed Day exhibits. | |

Discussed the CCCSI effort at the joint technical meeting
of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Tennessee Society of
Professional Engineers. | |

Met with TWRA personnel Rick Bivens, Mark Fagg, and Bart
Carter in Talbot regarding a TWRA exhibit at Watershed Day and becoming a
partner of CCCSI. TWRA provided unpublished information on recent studies in
the Coal Creek watershed and provided suggestions for other contacts. | |

Met with TVA personnel Debbie Hubbs, Jack Tuberville, and
Jim Hagerman in Knoxville regarding a TVA exhibit at Watershed Day and
becoming a partner of CCCSI. TVA personnel will explore the possibility of
providing fishing equipment for children at Watershed Day and they provided
suggestions for the event and other contacts. | |

Discussed the CCCSI effort at a meeting for the Institute
for Geotechnology at UT. Discussed the possibility of UT becoming a partner
of CCCSI and potential volunteer activities of UT students with Dr. Eric
Drumm and Dr. Kevin Robinson. | |

Met with Mr. Andrew Graves of the Boy Scouts of America
about BSA becoming a partner of CCCSI and participation in Watershed Day. | |
|
Received email messages from Daryl Armentrout and Tom Van
Brunt regarding participation in the Watershed Day activities. | |
|
Met with Mr. Buzz Buffington about the Clinch River Chapter of Trout Unlimited becoming a partner in CCCSI. Scheduled to make a presentation to the Clinch River Chapter on March 9 in Norris. |
